VISA INFORMATION
Stouffville College welcomes students from many faiths and
cultural backgrounds
who seek the distinctive education that we offer. Students are
drawn from a wide
variety of countries including those from Southeast and North
Asia, Africa, Europe,
South America and the USA.
Applying for a Visa:
Once you have been offered admission you should immediately
apply for your visa.
The Embassy or High Commission will be able to tell you the
average turnaround time
for a visa application. In some countries this can be anything
up to three months.
The Visa Interview**
As part of the application process you will be required to
attend an interview with
a Visa Officer. The documents that you will need to produce at
the visa interview
are listed below:
1. A copy of your application form to Stouffville College. (If
you did not keep a copy,
Stouffville College’s Admissions Office can fax or mail a
duplicate copy to you.)
2. The letter from Stouffville College confirming that you have
been accepted to study
a full-time course.
3. Valid Passport.
Documentary evidence of your ability to cover the costs of your
stay (for example,
accommodation costs, tuition fees and maintenance including
food, clothing
and transportation).
Other Requirements**
1. Evidence of your intention to return to your home country
once you have
completed your studies. Documentary evidence is preferred.
2. You should also be prepared to talk about why you wish to
study at Stouffville
College and why you have chosen your particular course(s). You
will need to convince
the Visa Officer that you do not intend to work full-time during
your stay in Canada.
**You must satisfy the Visa Officer on all of the above points.

PRIVACY/REFUND POLICY General Information:
Stouffville College’s Privacy Statement is
designed to protect the personal information
of students and interested parties. Disclosed below
are our information-gathering
and dissemination practices for this website:
Stouffville College does not share information about
students unless the student has
signed a waiver with a Government Agency or
Corporation/Sponsor or has made a specific
request in writing granting permission for the school
to disclose information to a sponsor
or parent/guardian. In all other circumstances
personal information is kept confidential
and not shared with any third party.
Our Privacy Pledge:
Stouffville College will use your personal
information solely for the purposes of enhancing
your experience with our site and to answer any
questions you may have concerning
the College. We will not sell or rent your personal
information to a third party.
Refund Policy:
Refunds are calculated in accordance with the Tuition
Refund Policy for those students
who officially drop a class or classes during the
first three weeks of the semester.

The percentage of refund is determined by the date stamp
issued by Stouffvillle
College’s Admission Department indicating official
withdrawal from classes.
Tuition will be refunded 100 percent for those courses
which, at any time, are
cancelled by the College. Failure to attend class, merely
giving notice to
the instructor, or making a stop payment on a cheque is
not considered an official
drop or withdrawal.
Students who pay their tuition in full and subsequently
withdraw will have their
refund calculated according to the above Tuition Refund
schedule. Refunds are
mailed directly to the student’s home by the College’s
Admission Department.
Students who pay by credit card can request the Admissions
Department process
their refund through their credit card. Otherwise the
College will mail the refund
cheque to the student’s home.
The initial Registration Fee and other student service
fees are non-refundable
(e.g. accommodation arrangements, courier charges).

AIRPORT MEETING SERVICE
International students arriving in Canada for the first
time may wish to be met
by a Stouffville College representative. Students wishing
to be met at the airport
must inform Stouffville College of the following at least
four weeks prior to arrival
and provide the following information:

PART-TIME EMPLOYMENT
Full-time students are allowed to work up
to 20 hours a week during term time,
and any number of hours during vacations. Stouffville
College provides an advisory service to students to help
them find part-time jobs. Conditions apply to part-time employment. Please visit Citizenship and Immigration

ENGLISH LANGUAGE SUPPORT (FREE OF
CHARGE)
Students enrolled in full-time courses who
wish to improve their use of English
are encouraged to attend language classes while continuing
with their studies.
This service is offered free of charge.

VISA EXTENSION
An international student requiring a visa
extension during his/her stay at
Stouffville College should submit their passport to the
College Registrar 60 days prior to their VISA EXPIRY DATE.
The Registrar will apply for visa extension on the
student’s behalf. All
documentation is then prepared by Stouffville College and
all correspondence
with the Citizen and Immigration Canada is conducted by
the school. Submit the following documents:-
(i) Copy of Study Permit
(ii) Bank Letter
(iii) Filled Visa Applciation Form
INTERNET AND PHOTOCOPYING FACILITIES
Students can access the internet and use
the College’s photocopying
facilities free of charge.
ACCOMMODATION
Stouffville College can arrange, on
request, student accommodation.
Initially, Stouffville College can reserve one-bedroom,
shared accommodation within reasonable traveling distance. The monthly rent for this
type of accommodation may range from $300 to $400 per month. The majority of our
students reserve accommodation for an initial period of one month. After that period they
either extend the contract or look for alternative, usually cheaper, accommodation.
In order for accommodation to be arranged by Stouffville
College, students must advise the College at least four weeks prior to when
accommodation is required. Stouffville College charges a non-refundable fee of $100 to arrange
for the first month's accommodation. You can download our Accommodation Form and

SOCIAL LIFE
We encourage students to make the most of
their leisure time in Toronto.
We know from experience that cultural and social
activities contribute greatly
to a student’s success. A variety of activities are
arranged throughout
the year. Subject teachers and Heads of Departments
organize educational trips
to the Business Development Bank of Canada, the Toronto
Stock Exchange,
and visits to such places as the Royal Ontario Museum, the
Art Gallery of Ontario,City Hall and the CN Tour. Excursion trips to Niagara
Falls are also arranged.The College also holds staff/student parties and organizes
cultural events thatreflect the variety of nationalities represented in the
student population.
EVENING SEMINARS
Several courses are conducted during the
evenings, subject to demand.
Full-time students are allowed to attend these courses to
reinforce their
daytime studies at special discounted fees.
CAREER ADVICE
Students are given advice about their
choice of courses and guidance for
their future career. Specialists in their field, Heads of
Departments and industrial
coordinators provide career guidance.
